From a psychiatric hospital to a gorgeous wedding ballroom, the 1899 venue in Indianapolis has a storied past that would intrigue and delight couples who love history.
Today, its crystal balls and flood of natural light make the modern bride shine.
The concept for this ballroom editorial was to showcase unique wedding vendors with an atypical approach to their own work. Our florist, Stephen Brooks from Indiana Paper Company, created this bouquet entirely out of paper. In addition to creating gorgeous custom bouquets, he also offers private workshops for others to learn these techniques.
Mel Neidlinger from Eats by Chef Mel went from teaching culinary techniques in the Caribbean to baking incredible cakes across the Midwest. With hints of gold glitter, this pastel two-tier cake was as show-stopping as it was delicious.
We highlighted fashion-forward details like the beaded sleeves of this Justin Alexander dress from Gretchen’s Bridal Boutique.
The grounds of the 1899 venue offered a well-manicured, woodsy area that served as the perfect backdrop for the big day.
Make-up artist Summer Miller showcased a coral lip and a daytime tawny eye with hints of gold. She is represented by Aesthetic Artist Agency.
Hair stylist Carly Phelps created two different looks and showed off her versatility. Bride Aailyah donned a regal box braid crown for the ceremony and rocked an effortless pulled back style for the reception. Phelps is also represented by Aesthetic Artist Agency.
Both bride and groom were outfitted by Gretchen’s Bridal Boutique.
Special thanks to all the vendors who participated in this ballroom-inspired styled shoot.
